The craigslist site you see today is largely the result of user suggestions.

  • When is craigslist coming to my town

There is no set timetable - we add new sites based largely on the number of requests we get.

  • How do you add a new category?

New categories are added when demand is demonstrated by posting patterns in existing categories, e.g. when we saw a lot of furniture ads in the general for sale category, we added a dedicated furniture category.

  • Why was my posting removed?

Tens of millions of user postings are posted to craigslist each month, many of which are outside our posted guidelines.

More than 15% of all ads are removed by users through the flagging system, and a similar percentage is removed by staff members.

Well over 95% of all postings removed by user flags and staff removals are outside our posted guidelines and terms of use.

If your post was removed and you're not sure why, visit our flag help forum and give the helpful volunteers there all the necessary information about your posting so they can help you figure it out.
